Low Budget Trip to AUSTRIA
Tyrol, 3-5 September 2015
Dear Colleagues from ENAJ,
the Austrian Guild wants to invite you to a Low Budget Trip to Austria. The trip will take place from 3rd to 5th September 2015 in Tyrol in the Alps. The General Theme of the trip is
„Agriculture in Mountain Areas – Challenge and Chance“
We want to show you how Austria handles its small-structured agriculture in less-favoured regions. You will learn about farms with just a few cows, but a lot of passion for farming. Furthermore you will see the system of alpine meadows, where animals spend their summers high up in the mountains. We will also tell you about traditions and special products like alpine milk. Decision-makers will tell you abut the value of farming for Austrian tourism and about programms for less favoured areas to help the farmers make their living.
The trip is mostly covered by Austrian sponsors. Only the costs for the indiviual journey and the accomodation (EUR 160,00) must be paid.
We’ll meet on 3rd September at 11:00 am at the Airport in Munich. We’ve organised a bus, that picks you up at the Airport. The trip ends on Friday 5th September at 3:00 pm.

Thursday, September 3rd
The first day deals with technical difficulties of working in mountainous areas. The organizer of the day is „Lindner Traktoren“, a specialized machinery producer situated in Tyrol.

Friday, September 4th
Day 2 is organized by ARGE Heumilch, an association of farmers and dairies, who promote „hay milk“. Hay milk is a high quality product milked from cows fed without silage.

On the third day „Arche Austria“ will tell and show you how the organisation helps endangered livestock breeds to be kept on farms.
